Area 52 Official explanation Spoiler Pictures

Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) have been seen in the middle of the desert in the west of the United States of America. Especially close to a US army research facility that is known as Area 51. The US government denies the existence of that secret laboratory and all you can see is a barb wired fence enclosing the area. No signs, no nameplates, nothing. A rumor says that aliens and their spaceships are examined in subterranean labs.

Now you might think: "Americans..." But what is this? Close to Aachen, on top of the Schneeberg - not far away from the political border to Belgium and the Netherlands you can find the same! An area enclosed with a barb wired fence. No signs, no nameplates, nothing. A small street without name enters the area but from the fence it is impossible to sse where it ends. We have to change our point of view:

Modern military techniques — nowadays free to everyone — allows us to see the area from a height of a few 100km. The street seems to go directly into the mountain! Unbelievable! We have to get a look from the inside!

We hired a computer expert help us with this problem. And after a while he really managed to hack into the hidden cameras on the area so we could get a glance inside (sorry for the bad quality):

The road really ends in front of a modern door that leads into the mountain! No labels, no doorbell, nothing. The only signs on that area can be found on a big grey box close to that door. They warn every curious person of chlorine gas. This kind of intimidation is also known for Area 51 in Nevada.

The task of this cache is to find the truth of this place - let's call it Area 52 named after the Aachens postcode. We placed a disguised box that contains a photo camera close to Area 52. Your task is to take a photo of every uncommon thing happening around there (which includes your visit! :) ). A description how to use the camera is written on it's back as well as on this website. Note your observations with the number of the picture you made in the cache logbook and don't forget to put the camera back into the cache! I will publish the pictures on the website of the cache.

Important:
The combination to open the Box is 502! Be careful when opening: The opening mechanism is stable, but the content might fall down when opening the cache! The cache is of course not inside the Area 52!

There is an official explanation of Area 52. Of course it is totally inconsistent. If you are interested nevertheless, look here!
