Depth of focus

It is difficult to take a good photo showing a small object in front of a background that is far away. Even if digital pocket cameras have a large depth of focus, you will run into this problem if the difference of distance is too high. The solution is to take two pictures with differned foci and combine them. (If you want to make an image of my travel bugs you just need to send me the two pictures and I will combine them!)

An example: imagine you want to photograph the TB Tiger in front of a Caribbean beach:

	The camera will focus on the front object, on the background or somewhere in between, which is also not a good trade-off.
	Take one picture with the focus on the small object in the front.
	Remove the object and take a second photo that shows only the background. Try not to move the camera between the two shots, because otherwise it will be harder to combine the pictures.
	The last step is the combination of the two pictures, but don't worry — I will do this.

Fake Polaroid

If you send me an image with text on it, I can make a fake Polaroid image. This way hand written notes or drawings on the photo are possible. By downloading one of the frames, you can also do this yourself. The frames (please try not to resize them) are saved as gif-images with transparency, but you can of course also use the jpeg-format which is much better for photos. To download click right on the image and choose "save target" and not "save image", because otherwise you will download the thumbnail. :)
