I made an implementation example to show that COCONUT works.
As mentioned before: The smaller the coil is made, the better its noise performance and thus its resolution is. But since the field of view gets smaller more coils are needed to cover the whole region of interest.
We chose to make a 2 x 3-channel flexible microscopy array for 3 Tesla. It is meant to become a wrist coil. Therefore one 3-channel array should have the size of a palm of the hand and is thus called COCONUT PALM.
The three signal probes of each array have a certain overlap to reduce coupling between the loops of the coil. The diameter of each single signal probe is 5cm.

One new feature introduced by COCONUT is a transmission line between the signal probes and the electronic circuits. To show that different cable length is possible (which is not self-evident in the world of RF) two different lengths are realized in this example.
One of the most interesting weeks of my internship began, when I could finally make the first images, but these were of course only
