From March to October 2004, I made an internship at Philips Medical Systems Nederland B.V. as a compulsory part of my electro technical engineering studies. In the RF Electronic department for the development of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanners I was given the task to create a COil CONstruction UTility.

The purpose of these web pages is to show my friends what I did in this time. Therefore I will also talk about the place where I lived during that period. Before I can finally show my work, you have to read a bit about the principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and why RF coils are needed there, but I promise this chapter will be short. Technical details will of course not be presented - otherwise Philips would not have allowed these pages to be on the internet.

I worked at Philips Medical Systems in Best - a small town 10 km away from Eindhoven and this is how the company is described on a safety folder that every visitor gets:

All of these departments are supported by Site Services Best. Work is carried out in both factories and offices.
